The Heart Behind the Movement
Kiana “Kiki” Reyes is a passionate dance artist and proud Bronx native committed to empowering her community through the transformative art of movement. From an early age, Kiki discovered the magic of dance — its power to express, to connect, and to heal. That spark grew into a lifelong journey of learning, performing, and sharing her gift with others.
Known for her versatility and vibrant energy, Kiki has trained extensively in Hip-Hop, Ballroom, Jazz, Club Latin, Lyrical, and Rhythm styles. Her teaching blends these forms into a fusion that celebrates both culture and creativity — inspiring students of all ages to move with confidence and joy.
Kiki’s professional background includes collaborations with Arthur Murray Dance Studios, Nieves Latin Dance Studio, Piel Canela Dance Company, Contra-Tiempo Latin Dance Fusion and a variety of independent artists. She has performed and competed across the country, gaining invaluable experience that she now pours into every class she leads.
What fuels her most as an educator is watching her students grow — building confidence in their bodies, tapping into their unique rhythm, and embracing new challenges. Kiki believes dance is more than just movement; it’s a powerful tool for self-discovery, resilience, and connection.
Motivated by the many adults who’ve told her, “I wish I started dancing sooner,” Kiki is on a mission to make dance accessible, welcoming, and enriching for everyone. Her message is simple: it’s never too late to start — and the moment you do, your journey truly begins.
A Message from Your Coach
Let me take you back...
To a time when a young girl had a dream of becoming a performer. She was drawn to the grace, strength, emotion, and dedication that dancers carried. From a young age, she understood that it took something special to express your true self in front of others — to let your body speak what words couldn’t. She thought, “There’s power in being that vulnerable.”
In her heart, she knew that the passion she felt when she danced was something others could feel too — a shared connection through movement.
Growing up, I was mesmerized by various R&B music artists and inspired by the artistry of dance choreographers in the early 2000s, which helped shape my love for Hip-Hop — my very first dance style.
But the real fusion began in 6th grade, the day I saw a West African dance performance that changed everything. Hip-Hop had always been my comfort zone, but this new style sparked something unexpected. I realized that every dance, no matter the origin, held the same truth: vulnerability is beautiful. And as that time passed, I wanted to feel that again — to move with freedom, purpose, and cultural connection.
Guided by old music teacher and dance coach, Professor Cano, I fell even deeper in love with the art of dance and as my curiosity grew for the fusion of different styles of dance. I picked up Bachata at family parties, learned Cuban-style Salsa in high school with Ms. Tina Vasquez of Contra-Tiempo Latin Dance Fusion and even explored the storytelling power of Lyrical Contemporary with Ms. Bianca Golden.
As my skills grew over the years, so did my versatility — and my vision. The fusion of these dance styles taught me not just movement, but meaning. It gave me a way to connect, express, and celebrate where I came from and where I’m going.
Dance became more than a passion — it became my gift from God.
And now, I am sharing that gift through MS Dance Fusion — a space where every person can discover their rhythm, express their truth, and experience the freedom that movement brings.
